Sorry it has taken me sooo long to complete this task but since my computer has been on the fritz it has put a damper on most of my internet browsing, posting and responses. I am sad that this class is almost over it was really the only class I looked forward to coming to. I hope Ms.Asdell enjoys her new job and the benefits that come along with it. Maybe she will keep in touch through the blogging world. The last few weeks of my life have been some what challenging... I have had to endure taking care of a sick baby, which involves staying up all night holding a baby that refuses to sleep and still trying to maintain my academic schedule, but it is all a part of life and now things are a little better because we just got our house and are in the process of moving that means cable tv and a more effcient internet service and Camara finally was able to get a doctors appointment which is tomorrow morning at 9. So everything is looking up, I am glad my life is back on track for the most part, so now I can get back to taking care of my family.

My paper is, of course you are aware by now, on the diaries of African Americaan Slaves. I am going to be going in depth on many of the topics I think were interesting about the life and ways of these people. The way they communicated, wrote, spelled, and showed their emotions. I hope the things that I have chosen to write about make for an exciting paper. I am very descriptive in most of my writing so I am hoping it will keep your attention and make you want to read more about the subject.
As you know my internet was down on thursday and they told me that it should have been fixed by 7:30 pm thursday day night but it is not fixed and obviously did not work when I got home thursday. So I had it cut off until we move into our house.....

This cite was actually a poem written by someone who had experienced being a slave, and was expressing the way he felt through writing. The poem was very moving because it made you realize that he was held against his will and forced to do things that people would never do now and things were done to him that were so cruel and inhuman. It helped a lot with the subject I choose.
Williams, Carla and Deborah. The Black Female Body: A Photographic History. Phila. Temple University. 2002.
This was a book a photos that told a story. It showed how slaves lived, worked and did odd jobs for nothing. Pictures express things that writing can not tell and they show pain, and these pictures were filled with different emotions. It helped me better understand the time of slavery and some of the pictures described the trade and sale.
Melton, Alonza. A Slave: A True Story of Violence and retribution in Antebellum, Missouri. Athens. University of GA. 1991
This book told the real life story of what it was like to be a slave, how hard it was and of how the slavery seemed to be never ending. They went through many trials and suffered many times but knew that they had to stay strong for each other. This resource helped me a lot and just like the other sources painted me a mental picture.

Well today is the day that our annotated biboliography's are due... I only have two sources so far and looking for two more seems like a major challenge. Right now I am in the library not doing to much. When I go home I will not be able to get on the internet because my wireless connection is interfering with the comcast singnals around my apartment, well this is what they came to my house and told me. I hope they wouldn't lie. This week has been kinda hectic too. We are in the process of finding a house... You know one of those things with a yard that no one wants to buy. My boyfriend's grandmother is not well and we are worried about her being at home alone. Last but not least I had three papers due today. That is truly sad. At least today is my last day of classes. So the rest of my today is going to go like this I will go to my last two classes for the day, go on the other side of town to pick up Camara, drive home before 5:40 hopefully, fix my boyfriend a quick meal before it is time for him to go to work, wake him up at 5:45 give him his packed meal, give Camara a bath and put her pj's on her.clean up the house, pack up the car to go to Grandmother's house for an over night trip by 6:30, call her to see if she needs anything before we arrive, take Camara inside, unpack the car, go talk to grandmother for a while, put Camara to sleep, take a shower fold my dirty clothes and put them away, and finally at about 12 I get to rest and just when you thought I was going to sleep my boyfriend will call me at about 1 because he is at work alone and he is bored. I will lay down... not go to sleep just lay down until he gets off work and get up at 3:30 to let him in his grandmother's house. That is what you call a long day, and most of this is my everyday routine. I am glad I do not get stressed out easily or I would be a nervous wreck but it is my life and I think I manage it pretty doggone well.

Oh my gosh I cannot believe the day I have had and now Tristan expects me to wait on him infront of this talking tree yeah right, He has got to be out of his mind. I am a star and I have better things to do like try to find my way back home and shine of course. Which right now both of those seem nearly impossible. I cannot believe he didn't tie me up maybe he wants me to run away, maybe he doesn't care if he returns to Wall with me or not, I ko=now one thing I am not going to sit here and wait on him to return but I have no clue where I am how far away I am from Tristan or there is anything creepy beyond the clearing. But truely anything would be better than being dragged through a forest.
Transcendentalism is a very spiritual and insightful way of life. The way the trascendentalist wrote told of the way they were leading their everyday lives, which, in a way is the same as the blogs or diaries we keep in today's way of living. They believed in being very personal and moral in their writings and the style of then and now help in many ways differentiate our cultural identity but are still strongly influenced by the movement of the young writers.
In my blogging experience I have noticed that the tone and style I write in is more influenced by how I feel that day.I feel this is a very good way to reflect on the day I had which is what Emerson was trying to do, use his writing as a way to reflect on not only his day but also his past, and in doing weblogs you try to write bout some of the more interesting things that have happened to you in your lifetime and as you write you start to reminisce on what was actually going on, how you felt at the time, and maybe even your surroundings. With every memory there is something that triggers a mental picture to go off in your mind, like waves to an old television, it may take a while but the picture will become clearer with a little bit of time. The way we write is also very closely related with the fact that we take our own personal morals in to mind when coming up with something to write about and make public because when someone reads what you have written you do not want them to get the feeling that you are too personal or even inappropriate. What you write says a lot about you as a person making everything you post a political discussion and the transcendentalist found that being virtuous is more than a physical aspect it is also a mental one and by being able to decide if something is politically correct or appropriate for the world to be able to view about you is a easy way to be virtuous.
The main differences between today's world and then is we are not afraid to speak what is actually on our minds and this is how we are defined as a more modern people. We feel that our opinion is more than just merely a thought. It is a silent voice that no one will ever hear if we do not speak up, and writing down our opinions is a way that we can tell how we personally feel about our issues and making those writings public is something that just was not done back then they were of earth and soil and felt that if they felt a certain way about an issue God would already know and would take care of the problem in his own time, which is true, but writing is a way for us to vent, work things out, and a numerous amount of other things$. We rely on our ability to focus our energy in writing to allow us to express feelings of compassion, hatred, and sorrow. When they used it as a tool to map out their spiritual lives and write poems and stories that had elements of the earth and God.
I
In conclusion, the reason the Trascendentalists were so into writing about the earthly elements is because they based their lives n their faith and being honest to themselves and the elements were thought to be very pure to them and that is where they got their inspiration to write some of the poems and books that can out during this movement and had strong reference to God and the plants and animals. We in this day and age are more critical and tend to feel that those things re not always realistic inspirtations and tend to focus more on the things we know rather that the things we dream about, unless the topic is fictional and made up.

LITTLE JOHNNY STRIKES AGAIN....
A grade school teacher in Kentucky asked her
students to use the word "fascinate" in a sentence.
Molly put up her hand and said, "My family went to
my granddad's farm, and we all saw his pet sheep. It was
fascinating."
This is really dumb but I found it very funny, It is amazing what kids really do say to their teachers.
The teacher said, "That was good, but I wanted you
to use the word "fascinate, not fascinating".
Sally raised her hand. She said, "My family went to
see Rock City and I was fascinated."
The teacher said, "Well, that was good Sally, but I
wanted you to use the word "fascinate."
Little Johnny raised his hand. The teacher hesitated
because she had been burned by Little Johnny before. She finally
decided there was no way he could damage the word
"fascinate", so she called on him.
Johnny said, "My aunt Gina has a sweater with ten
buttons, but her boobs are so big she can only fasten eight."
The teacher sat down and cried

tears tears and more tears, Spring break is officially over for me today. It feels like it was only one day. I could almost really cry because of the thought that I have to wake up at 7 to be ready and on time for school in the morning, not only that but I will probably be up earlier than that because spring break through Camara off her schedule and now she wakes up early and and goes to sleep early. Though it has been fun I am dreading goign back I haven't gotten anything accomplished that I had intended on doing and now I feel like I have waited until the last minute and aow crunched for time. I have a rose colored mentality so I try to see everything in the best light possible but the way things have been moving today the color has changed from rose to teal and I am not joking. I love school and am glad IO am furthering my education but I have been running errands for my mom all week and I am like will the madness ever end. You know how alice felt when she was following the rabbit through wonderland. At least I have one last night. I am tired I think I am going turn in.
OMG, this is Camara's first easter. I am about as excited as here dad is about her dress it is lime green with little white flowers and she has this little white stockings and little lace white shoes. she looks just like those little porcelin dolls except she has far less hair and she is mine, but duh that is obvious. We are going to Athens for church and dinner with my family and we will definately be late because Taurean did not want to wake up this morning; but we will get there. They say better late than never right???? Even though I am not taking an pictures today she is going to get her pictures taken next weekend with her dress on and then with her daddy an me for our first family portrait we waited si=o she would have features and be able to smile and show her pretty pink gums to the world. My daddy calls her everyday and as a matter of fact he is calling right now.. Bye
It is "My" birthday and I am on my way to Atlanta, Ga with my boyfriend I am so excited and scared because of the tornado that just went through here yesterdy but we paid a non refundable 300 dollars for our hotel stay an I was not about to waste my money.... we just got to the hotel and hold on I am going in to get our room keys.....
OKitay...I am back, we don't really have a list of things to do and I know we will just berunning around this "bigger" city like baby birds looking for worms, but We are here. This is actually the very first time I havebeen here without my parents. Everytime I said I was going in the past they were like hey we want to go too, and yoju know whaI didn't care because that meant I didn't have to drive. Well I guess I have to stop typing because my boyfriend is waiting on me to get out of the car so he can take in our luggage. TTYL.

Just as I suspected, today is going by so slowly. I wish I had a magic clock to speed up the time or even something like Adam Sandler had on that click movie.... I really don't have to much going on to make two hundred words reach this end on the web so I am going to make something up....It will eventually be a convo between two dumb teens. It is very rough.
Phew, we finally lost him I can't believe that cop almost caught us.
I guess we shouldn't try to sneak into another club with or parents ID's.
Yeah, your probably right, we don't even look like these people; and they call their selves our parents some nerve.
Hey I have and Idea...
Wait does it involve another club because I can't run another thirteen blocks in a full sprint.
No no no, how about we call our friends and tell them to meet us at pizza hut and I will tell you the rest when we are all together.
I don't think I like the sound of this plan and you haven't even told me yet.
Don't worry I have everything under control.
Isn't that what you just said about us getting in to the club with these busted ID's.....
Well that was different I have a sure fire plan that is guaranteed to work.So just call everybody. I will be back in ten minutes
But but, what am I supposed to do until then?
I don't know count or see how a=many times you can say your ABC's before I get back.
- Ten minutes go by and the other kids begin to show up but still no sign of the plans initiator. Then as the other kids began to become impatient here he comes popping out of the bushes with a shopping cart full of all the right thing needed to vandalize even the biggest house.
*&^^&* Okay I think I will stop here stay tuned for the rest.

Today has been the longest day in the history of my life, not because the time went back but becase I have had all sorts of things happening to me today.... My day started off messed up; camara was mad and wouldn't go to her daddy so I could sleep so I got up at 6 am which is ypicall when you have a new baby so I wasn't sweating that but then our toilet would not flush and no one had even used it so my boyfriend called his self trying o fix it while I went and bought a plunger I tried to use the plunger when I got back and the water came streaming out on to the floor and it went so far it got on the carpet. So I had at least a half inch of standing toilet water on my bathroom floor(good thing it was clean water) but it was still goss then I couldn't decide what I was going to do to get the water up. I ahd to use all the paper towels on four rolls (save the trees). I was so sad I had never had to do anything like that ever. Then I went to work out in the fitness center of my complex and the had taken the crunch machine out and that was the only way I could work my lower stomach... meaning I am stuck with this pouch on my belly for another week:-(. This coming weekend is my birthday and on friday I am going to Nashville and saturday through Monday morning I am going to be in Atlanta, but I have no clue what I want to do except eat; which happens to be my pass time. But I forgot what I was about to write so I guess I am finished writing.
In those blogs and websites it was amazing to me that after all those people went through they still have the strenght to tell their own personal story. A lot of the people in new orleans commented that they still haven't been able to rebuild or even get back to new orleans because of how tight their money became after the hurricane. I know if I were in their shoes I couldn't be as strong I would be worried about what I was going to next just like so of them and I know they are trying to be strong but it is okay for them to let their guard down and be human, it hurts many of them lost family members in the storm or haven't been able to even get in contact with family to let them know if they are dead or alive and many of the people that were affected by previous hurricanes branched out to share their stories. When I read the story of the people stuck in the hospital it hurt my heart. I know we take advantage of the things we have and it makes me wish that everyone would wake up and realize bad things can happen to anyone and we will need a hand to help us.
My previous post was an email from one of my older cousins I thought a few people might find it interesting
Passing of a good friend - Rest in Peace
Obituary of the late Mr. Common Sense:
Today we mourn the passing of a beloved old friend, Common Sense, who
has been with us for many years. No one knows for sure how old he was,
since his birth records were long ago lost in bureaucratic red tape. He
will be remembered as having cultivated such valuable lessons as:Knowing
when to come in out of the rain; Why the early bird gets the worm; Life
isn't always fair; and Maybe it was my fault.
Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (e.g., don't
spend more than you can earn) and reliable strategies (e.g., adults, not
children, are in charge).
His health began to deteriorate rapidly when well-intentioned but
overbearing regulations were set in place. Reports of a 6 -year-old boy
charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended
from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for
reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition.
Common Sense lost ground when parents attacked teachers for doing the
job that they themselves had failed to do in disciplining their unruly
children. It declined even further when schools were required to get
parental consent to administer Tylenol, sun lotion or a Band-Aid to
a student; but could not inform parents when a student became pregnant
and wanted to have an abortion.
Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became
contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better
treatment than their victims.
Common Sense took a beating when you couldn't defend yourself from a
burglar in your own home and the burglar could sue you for assault.
Common Sense finally gave up the will to live, after a woman failed to
realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot. She spilled a little in
her lap, and was promptly awarded a huge settlement.
Common Sense was preceded in death by his parents, Truth and Trust; his
wife, Discretion; his daughter, Responsibility; and his son, Reason.
He is survived by his 3 step-brothers; I Know My Rights, Someone Else Is
To Blame, and I Am A Victim.
Not many attended Common Sense's funeral because so few people realized
he was gone.
If you still remember him, pass this on. If not, join the majority and
do nothing except witness the continuation of idiocy in our country.

I think they are both very good ways of communication but I really like writing in a journal because no matter where you are you can always carry your journal and it is easy to just open and write down your feelings. All of your thought pour out like a stram would flow into a river they can all come out at once or your mind can be frozen and only let certain thoughts pour out on the paper and the ability to go back and look at the way your hand writing styles change with the different feeling you felt as you were writing and everyone loves to draw little doodles to correspond with things they said for example: if I write I love hot wings, which I do, I might draw a heart or a little hot wing or a real wing, but just as another way to express the way I feel. Journals are private for the most part and can hold numerous amounts of secrets and all of your emotions. You can be angry and no one can be mad cause you cussed them out and you still got the chance to vent and get everything off your chest. That is for the most part why I think I like journals...
Explain some of the beneficial and/or non-beneficial effects that maintaining a weblog seems to have on writing style. Think not only about the actual format of writing, but also how writing for an audience may influence the writing process. How has maintaining a weblog influenced your own writing style during these past few weeks? How might these writing skills assist you either personally or professionally in the future?
In this section weblogs came in handy and had some very important and interesting ways of being maintained. The benefits and non beneficial ways of maintaining a weblog are very easy to explain, but can be difficult to catch if you haven't read up on the online etiquette. I am going to explain how maintaining a web journal can make you a better writer and how not to go about expressing yourself to an audience of people you don't know. One of the first ways weblogs were beneficial were they allowed people to share their opinion in an open fashion without being ridiculed for their thoughts and personal experiences helped pave the way journals were ordered. Either by formal writings of reoccurring events or informal entries of things that have happened that day that someone else might find interesting. Maintaining a weblog can be very simple. It can be written in everyday and the entries could be the short and simple or they could be written in as things happen. They are al very good ways to share things you find on the internet and think that your viewing audience might have some intrest in the subjects. You could attach links, pictures, feeds, and videos to your weblog journals if those are the kinds of things you are in to. There are also some very poor ways of maintaining a weblog. In the book "Weblog Handbook" by Rebecca Blood she explains the way things should and shouldn't be done. One of the first things she says is you should not write about things that only you find interesting. I think she said this because you do not have a general audience and the people that read your weblog is forever changing and just because one person finds what you wrote is great one day you could write on that same topic the next day and someone tell you how they feel, this is also important to know because it is very important that you watch the things you write because people get to know you by your thoughts and if you write something offensive your online reputation will be tarnished because that is how your audience is trying to get to know you.Personally, I think these exercises can make you a better writer by making you aware of the things you write and how to word them so that they appeal to the people that read it. As a student assignments get harder as you progress in school and the way you look on paper tell your teacher a lot about you as an individual. I hope that in your own weblog you take these things into consideration and write your feelings as they come while trying to entertain and audience.

I was wondering why you see some of the most beautiful people paired off with some of the worst looking people. I know there is someone out there as equally beautiful as everyone and I just don't see why everyone doesn't look for that. I know I wasn't really looking when I was found by my boyfriend we were at a night club and my freinds were getting on my nerves and he came and sat next to me and started talking but as for those other people, I mean come on I know everyone wants to be happy and I am not shallow it's just that my friend Kayla always asks me this question everytime we go somewhere and she gets depressed cause she is twenty like me and has two kids and no man I feel sorry for her but she is just like the people she tallks about she is just never satisfied unless the guy is a scrub. I know that was a bad thing to say about a friend but if the shoe fits. I am a person that loves to see variety because it puts culture in the lives of those who need it the most. Just the other day, this is way off my subject but, I was in the store and just because my baby has straight hair and is bright skinned a lady behind the counter asked me if she was a mexican I was shocked and I wanted to tell her about her self but decided that it was her stupidity she would one day have to deal with and I wasn't going to be the one she would have to answer to in the end, so I let it slide; but then she followed me around the whole store asking me questions when she was supposed to be working, and she asked me If I was really balck or if I just tell people that so I can get by with stuff and I got offended and left the store I couldn't believe the nerve she had I could have been crazy and she said that an I could have broken her nose, next time I hope she watches what she says because not everyone is like me.
Have you ever wondered why there are so many blue crayons in one box??? I mean there is only one pink and one brown why are there so many blue crayons. I guess someone actually thought little kids would know where to put different shades of blue in one picture, like a five year old is oing to know which spot a tint or shade goes in I thought this was funny cause my six year old nephew was coloring a superman picture with his eight year old brother and he asked him for the blue crayon and his brother said which one well my youngest nephew sat up and he was thinking about it and then he said "why did ask me which one I just need the blue crayon", then his brother got mad and went to tell my sister that he would tell him which blue crayon he wanted and she laughed so he got even more mad cause no one was taking him seriously about this blue crayon thing so he went back to where his brother was coloring and by that time he had gotten his own blue crayon and he said " When I asked you what blue crayon you wanted howcome you didn't say the blue blue crayon.
Man, I wish I would have been able to join the interview there was some pretty interesting things mentioned about the book. Joe Peacock is a very funny man I think he gets his inspiration from his attitude and how he views things, because from reading his life stories he has his on kind of thought process which sometimes includes acting before doing which I know is what most people rely on from time to time, but the way he brings everything together in words is timeless. I was able to connect with some of the stories indirectly; because some of the similarities of things he had experienced were really close to things I had been through. I was looking Joe Peacock up on the internet and came across and excurp from his up coming book "Still Mentally Incontinent" I read some of the things he was thinking about adding in the book and you could tell he is really as laid back as he sounds but fun, not laid back and lame like some authors. He is actualy a real person. Well next time I guess I should look at our schedule before scheduling a doctor's appointment.
